In the file wp-traffic-tools.php we use the function below to help determine what consititutes a human visitor and a spider visitor. Notice the apply_filters(‘wptt_spider_check_hook’, null); command. This is what we will be hooking into.

function wptt_filter_spiders()
{
global $table_prefix;

//we check to see if there is any custom
$interrupt = apply_filters('wptt_spider_check_hook', null);
if (isset($interrupt)&&!empty($interrupt))
{
return $interrupt;
}

... wptt code continues if no interupt functions are running
}

In your themes’s functions.php file or in a custom plugin add in code like this:

add_filter('wptt_spider_check_hook', 'your_custom_function');

function your_custom_function()
{
//your custom code here
//return 1; for humans
//return 0; for spiders
}

and that will let you use your own system instead of ours for the redirect module only.

Our URL rotating method for our Link Management Section now employs true link rotation rather than selecting from the available pool of links at random.

This means it will rotate from link 1 in our list, to link 2, to link 3, etc, and start over once the list cycle has completed.

This will help those trying to send a specific percentage of traffic to one location versus another achieve their goal more accurately.

Version affected: 6.1.3.7

An important note: Some website’s cookies will not load properly when the site is loaded in an iframe. Double check if you are working with affiliate URLs! To get around this issue you may can use a WPTT’s cookie module to manually stuff the cookie of the affiliate URL on the same page the redirect is occuring. I’ve not tested this though.

and you would like to add additional tracking information to it like this:

Then the end result would look something like this!
